Overview

At Partnership HealthPlan of California, the Microsoft 365 Solutions Engineer plays a key role
in supporting and optimizing the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment to enable secure,
efficient, and collaborative digital operations. This position is responsible for the architecture,
administration, and lifecycle management of core Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange
Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Defender for M365, and Azure Active
Directory.


As a member of the IT Operations Team, the Microsoft 365 Solutions Engineer contributes to
platform reliability, security, and performance, while also supporting user adoption, training, and
governance initiatives. The role emphasizes hands-on technical work, cross-functional
collaboration, and continuous learning.


This position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies and
contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services through modern, integrated
workplace solutions.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
▪ Administer and support the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment, including
Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Defender for M365,
and Azure Active Directory.
▪ Design, implement, and maintain M365 configurations related to security,
compliance, and identity management, including conditional access policies, data loss
prevention (DLP), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
▪ Monitor service health, manage licensing, and maintain tenant-level settings to ensure
optimal performance and availability.
▪ Configure and support endpoint management solutions using Intune, including mobile
device management (MDM) and Windows Autopilot.
▪ Respond to and troubleshoot platform-related incidents, perform root cause analysis,
and implement corrective actions.
▪ Collaborate with cybersecurity, helpdesk, and infrastructure teams to support identity
governance, access controls, and secure collaboration.
▪ Participate in planning and execution of platform updates, feature rollouts, and
system migrations.
▪ Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including configuration
baselines, operational procedures, and architectural diagrams.
▪ Provide Tier 3 support for escalated Microsoft 365 issues and contribute to
knowledge sharing across IT teams.
▪ Assist in evaluating new Microsoft 365 features and services for potential adoption
and integration.
▪ Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing related to Microsoft 365 services.
▪ Contribute to automation and scripting efforts to streamline administrative tasks and
improve operational efficiency.
▪ Perform other duties as assigned in alignment with departmental and organizational
priorities.

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 environments in medium to large organizations. Demonstrated experience with core Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, and Azure Active Directory. Experience supporting identity and access management (IAM), including hybrid integration with on-premises Active Directory. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration tasks.​

 

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications

Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance
features such as conditional access, DLP, eDiscovery, and Microsoft
Purview. Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across
M365 services and related infrastructure. Ability to communicate
clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical
stakeholders. Experience with service monitoring tools (e.g., Microsoft
Admin Center, Sentinel, or third-party solutions). Familiarity with
ITIL-based service management and change control processes is a
plus. Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365
Administrator), MS-700 (Teams Administrator), or SC-300 (Identity
and Access Administrator) are desirable. Willingness to participate in
on-call rotations and occasional travel to Partnership locations as
needed. Interest in continuous learning and professional development
in Microsoft cloud technologies.

management software and managed care issues. Strong self-management skills with the ability to develop and adhere to project timelines. Proven ability to work effectively with members and employees at all organizational levels. Commitment to maintaining complete confidentiality of member, employee, and PHC information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
interpret and convey technical requirements. Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving system issues

 

Work Environment And Physical Demands

Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled office
environment with moderate temperatures. Must be able to remain
seated at a desk and work on a computer for up to 8 hours per day.
Occasional walking and standing may be required, with duration
varying based on daily tasks and project needs. Requires sufficient
manual dexterity to operate standard office and network equipment,
including keyboards, tools, and diagnostic devices. Position may
involve occasional travel for meetings, site visits, or project implementation, which may include air travel. Must be able to spend extended periods viewing computer screens and working with digital tools. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing ability to perform essential job functions effectively. May be required to lift, carry or move equipment of varying size, weighing up to 50 lbs.

 

HIRING RANGE:

 

$122,667.11 - $159,467.24
