Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator performs a variety of confidential, administrative, and clerical tasks to support the HR department in various functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, training, and compliance. Prepares correspondence, reports, and other documentation, and responds to employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general HR administrative support to the HR department. 
  • Coordinates meetings, events, and activities as directed by HR leadership
  • Responds to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assists in organizing company events and employee engagement activities
  • Assists with maintenance of various HR libraries including job descriptions and policies
  • Assists with entering employee information into various databases and updates as necessary, maintaining data accuracy
  • Prepares and processes various reports that may be confidential in nature
  • May assist in the recruitment efforts to support all phases of the recruitment lifecycle
  • May participate in the development of policies and procedures related to various HR functions
  • May assist HR leadership with employee relations related issues and situations
  • May assist the Training & Development team with administrative support, such as preparing training material or coordinating training sessions
  • May assist with open enrollment meetings, benefit presentations, and employee onboarding
  • Works with the Benefits team to prepare exit packets and inventory logging for departing employees
  • May assist with coordinating pre-employment background screening
  • Maintains working knowledge and ensures compliance of federal, state, and local laws/regulations and reporting requirements affecting HR functions
  • Will serve as back up to Recruitment Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Benefits Coordinator, and HR Administrative Assistant, as needed
  • Supports Human Resources staff in assigned projects, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

 

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or HR certification preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in general office responsibilities and procedures providing clerical and administrative support, including one (1) year of experience in the Human Resources field; or any combination of training, education, and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities.

 

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications

Knowledge and expertise in computer software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation. Knowledge of effective HR processes, trends, and strategies. Excellent decision making and analytical skills. Excellent professional written and verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and vendors. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Strong written and oral communication skills. Detail-oriented and able to multi-task with proficiency and work in a fast paced environment with accuracy. Must maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy. Expected to provide the highest level of service to internal/external clients and promote teamwork and a cooperative effort among employees. Must exercise good judgment, maintain ethical standards, and follow company policies and procedures.

 

Work Environment And Physical Demands

Ability to use a computer keyboard. More than 60% of work time may be spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, or lift objects of varying size, weighing up to 25 lbs.
