Overview

The EDI Application Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration,
maintenance, and support of EDI software applications within the organization. This role ensures
the optimal performance, availability, and security of applications to meet business needs and
user requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, and updates software applications based on business requirements and
vendor recommendations.
• Ensures proper integration of applications with existing systems and databases.
• Monitors application performance and availability, troubleshooting issues and ensuring
timely resolution.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks, such as applying patches, updates, and upgrades to
applications.
• Collaborates with vendors for technical support, issue resolution, and updates.
• Manages user accounts, access permissions, and configurations within applications.
• Provides technical support and training to end-users on application functionality and usage.
• Creates and maintains user documentation and training materials.
• Implements security measures to protect application data and ensure compliance with
organizational policies and industry regulations.
• Conducts regular audits and assessments to ensure applications meet security and compliance
standards.
• Develops and implements backup and recovery procedures for application data.
• Tests backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Communicates with software vendors regarding application issues, updates, and
enhancements.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and business units, to understand
application requirements and resolve issues.

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluates and recommends new software applications or upgrades to enhance organizational
efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participates in IT projects, such as application migrations, integrations, and enhancements.
• Documents application configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference
and training purposes.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or
related field; or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 4 years of
experience in administering and supporting software applications in a
corporate environment. Proficiency in installing, configuring, and
maintaining applications on various platforms (e.g., Windows, Linux).
Strong understanding of application deployment methodologies,
including cloud-based solutions. Experience with application
monitoring tools and performance optimization. Knowledge of IT
security principles and practices related to application management.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented
environment.  

 

 

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications

Familiarity with Edifecs products or related technologies (preferred).
Familiarity with database management systems and SQL (preferred)

Work Environment And Physical Demands

More than 80% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor.
May be required to lift, carry, or move equipment of varying size,
weighing up to 50 lbs. May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, or
work in other non-standing and non-sitting positions to install
cabling, systems hardware, and other related equipment.
